Abstract(s)
O presente texto enquadra-se num trabalho mais amplo realizado no âmbito do mestrado em Educação Ambiental, no Instituto Politécnico de Bragança, cuja finalidade era descrever o trabalho da Educação Ambiental, desenvolvido nas comunidades rurais da Guiné-Bissau (GB) por Organizações Não Governamentais (ONG). Consideramos que na GB é imperativo o desenvolvimento da educação ambiental em todos os contextos, principalmente no âmbito não formal e informal, para promover mudanças de comportamento, atitudes e valores em relação à sociedade, ao ambiente, entre outros. Neste contexto, para este texto definimos como objetivo: conhecer as intervenções das ONG no âmbito ambiental nas comunidades rurais da GB. Relativamente à natureza da investigação trata-se de um estudo qualitativo, com características descritivas. Para recolha de dados recorreu-se à análise documental. Os resultados evidenciaram que as ONG realizam ações de EA nas comunidades. Estas ações promovem mudanças visíveis nas comunidades. A cultura local é sempre tida em conta na elaboração e execução de projetos, sendo fundamental reforçar o envolvimento e o comprometimento como forma de proporcionar a participação de todos e principalmente das mulheres e no seu empoderamento.
The present text is part of a broader work carried out as part of the master's degree in Environmental Education at the Polytechnic Institute of Bragança, whose purpose was to describe the work of Environmental Education, developed in rural communities of Guinea-Bissau (GB) by Non-Governmental Organizations (NGO). We consider that in the GB it is imperative to develop environmental education in all contexts, especially in the non-formal and informal context, to promote changes in behaviour, attitudes, and values in relation to society, the environment, among others. In this context, for this text we defined as an objective: to know the interventions of NGO in the environmental field in the rural communities of GB. Regarding the nature of the research, this is a qualitative study with descriptive characteristics. Documentary analysis was used for data collection. The results showed that NGOs carry out environmental education actions in the communities. These actions promote visible changes in the communities. Local culture is always considered in the development and implementation of projects, and it is essential to strengthen the involvement and commitment to provide the participation of all, especially women and their empowerment
