Abstract(s)
Este trabalho tem como objetivo principal apresentar e definir o conceito de smartcities, relacionado com o conceito de urbanismo sustentável no poder local. Como a tecnologia pode ser usada para melhorar a eficiência e a sustentabilidade das cidades? É importante realçar que estes conceitos surgem associados ao planeamento urbanístico equilibrado e sustentável das autarquias locais. A revisão de literatura realizada permite definir o papel crucial da aplicação prática do conceito de smartcity na atualidade e quais as implicações da sua implementação na sociedade. É importante destacar que existe uma necessidade de transição e de implementação de medidas políticas e de planeamento urbano que prevejam boas práticas na consecução da sustentabilidade urbana. Apresentam-se assim medidas e estratégias de implementação do conceito de smartcity no planeamento e construção de cidades inteligentes e sustentáveis, de forma a garantir o desenvolvimento sustentável das gerações presentes para as futuras.

The literature review allows us to define the crucial role of the practical application of the smart city concept today and what are the implications of its implementation in society. It is important to highlight that there is a need for transition and implementation of policy and urban planning measures that provide good practices in achieving urban sustainability.Thus, measures and strategies for the implementation of the smart city concept in the planning and construction of smart and sustainable cities are presented, in order to ensure the sustainable development of present generations for future generations.
