This article stems from a teaching-learning experience in Music Education, conducted with a 6th-grade class of the 2nd cycle of Basic Education, who also attend Specialized Arts Education in an articulated regime with general education. The intervention took place within the scope of the Complementary Offering of the Basic Music Course between March and April 2025, with the song “Dani California” by the North American rock band Red Hot Chili Peppers as the object of study. For data collection and analysis, a quantitative methodology was adopted, through the application of a direct and participatory observation grid focused on three domains of analysis: attitudes; creativity and performance. The results suggest a consistent evolution in the students' performance throughout the process, with particular emphasis on the maintenance of the attitudinal and creative domains. The study corroborates the hypothesis that the A\2018 approach (Alves, 2023) presents itself as an effective strategy for the performance and general development of the participants, as it is centered on the musical realization of study objects close to the students' cultural environments.
