Esta pesquisa tem como objetivo destacar a importância de abordar o tema do lixo eletrônico no ambiente escolar,com o intuito de promover a conscientização e a responsabilidade ambiental entre os alunos. O crescimento alarmante do lixo eletrônico tem gerado impactos negativos ao meio ambiente devido à falta de conhecimento sobre o seu descarte adequado. A educação escolar desempenha um papel fundamental ao oferecer oportunidades de aprendizado sobre o tema, capacitando os alunos a compreenderem os riscos associados ao lixo eletrônico e a adotarem práticas sustentáveis em relação ao consumo, descarte e reciclagem desses resíduos. Nesse contexto, uma pesquisa foi realizada por meio de um formulário online com perguntas que tinham o intuito de descobrir os conhecimentos e a manipulação desses materiais por parte dos alunos do Instituto Federal do Pará. Os resultados mostraram o contato frequente com a manipulação desses resíduos, além da falta de meios para o descarte sustentável desses materiais.
This research aims to highlight the importance of addressing the issue of electronic waste in the school environment, in order to promote environmental awareness and responsibility among students. The alarming growth of electronic waste has generated negative impacts on the environment due to lack of knowledge about its proper disposal. School education plays a key role by offering learning opportunities on the subject, enabling students to understand the risks associated with electronic waste and to adopt sustainable practices in relation to the consumption, disposal and recycling of this waste. Based on this, a survey was carried out using an online form with questions that aimed to discover the knowledge and handling of electronic waste by the students of the Federal Institute of Pará. The results showed frequent contact with the handling of these residues, in addition to the lack of means for the sustainable disposal of these materials.
