- Análise por fotogrametria da postura e fatores de risco associados em crianças e adolescentes escolarizadosPublication . Objetivos: Caracterizar a postura de crianças e adolescentes procurando associações com variáveis sociodemográficas, comportamentais, antropométricas e clínicas. Metodologia: Estudo analítico/transversal realizado por fotogrametria numa amostra constituída por 135 participantes, com idades entre os 6 e os 18 anos. Resultados: O peso da mochila é inadequado (>15% da massa corporal) em 10 % dos casos. A prevalência de lombalgia foi de 37,8% associando- -se ao tipo de calçado e teste de Adams. Estudantes com Adams positivo são mais velhos, mais pesados, mais altos, mais sedentários e transportam mais peso nas mochilas. Diferenças significativas entre sexos foram observadas na vista anterior para ambos os ângulos quadricipitais, tendendo as raparigas para genu valgo fisiológico. Nas vistas laterias direita e esquerda os resultados variaram de forma significativa de acordo com o teste de Adams, tendendo os participantes com Adams positivo para a anteriorização. Conclusão: Os resultados evidenciam a importância da implementação de programas direcionados à educação postural.
- Comparative study of nomophobia among Spanish and Portuguese nursing studentsPublication . Gutierrez-Puertas, Lorena; Marquez-Hernandez, Veronica; Preto, Leonel; Granados-Gamez, Genoveva; Gutierrez-Puertas, Vanesa; Aguilera-Manrique, GabrielNomophobia is the fear of leaving the house without a mobile and being out of mobile phone contact and affects different areas of a person's life, especially in terms of social, work and academic relationships due to a dependence on the use of smartphones. Discovering the prevalence of nomophobia among nursing students is very important, as the misuse of smartphones in clinical practice may cause distractions, affecting the quality of care and putting patient safety at risk. Furthermore, it can lead to poorer academic performance during class. The aim of this study was to compare the levels of nomophobia experienced by nursing students at the University of Almeria, Spain and the Polytechnic Institute of Braganza, Portugal. A comparative descriptive observational study was carried out. A nomophobia questionnaire adapted to the Spanish and Portuguese sociolinguistic context was employed; 258 participants comprised the subjects of study. The main results showed both Spanish and Portuguese nursing students scored higher than average regarding levels of nomophobia. However, the scores gathered from items on the questionnaire were generally higher among the Portuguese population than the Spanish one. The Portuguese students (54.7%) felt more anxious than the Spanish students (35.4%) if their battery ran out. Similarly, the Portuguese population showed a greater need for instant communication with their family and friends. In conclusion, the dimensions explored indicate significant levels of nomophobia among both nursing student populations, with higher levels among the Portuguese population than the Spanish.
- Socio-linguistic analysis of the charter of citizens’ rights and obligations in health servicesPublication . Granero-Molina, José; Fernández-Sola, Cayetano; Aguilera-Manrique, Gabriel; Preto, Leonel; Lara-Palomo, Inmaculada; Castro-Sánchez, Adelaida MariaThe aim of this study is to carry out a socio-linguistic analysis of the dissemination of the Charter of Citizens’ Rights and Obligations in Public Health Services. We designed a qualitative investigation using observation and content analysis. A deductive analysis technique was followed, based on the “SPEAKING” model categories. The data analysis suggests a clear framework of rights and obligations has been established, but is not very familiar to patients and relatives. We can conclude that despite the widespread dissemination and publicity of the Citizens’ Charter of Rights and Obligations, we still need the involvement of professionals. Nurses can develop a fundamental role in this process.
