A globalização e a utilização crescente da tecnologia vêm influenciando a vida social e empresarial, bem como as relações sociais, culturais e econômicas dos próprios indivíduos. A economia atual é globalizada, o que impulsiona a interação entre culturas de uma maneira cada vez mais ilimitada. Essas relações atingem âmbitos e interesses comerciais, econômicos, sociais, ou mesmo, educacionais. A busca crescente por informações também atinge um patamar global, sendo de extrema importância o conhecimento de novos idiomas, principalmente aqueles pertencentes às grandes potências mundiais. Neste sentido, sendo
a Educação uma das áreas responsáveis por recolher, tratar e disseminar a informação e por preparar o indivíduo para o mundo global, surgem escolas com uma proposta pedagógica bilíngue, ou seja, que adotam outro idioma, além da língua materna, em seu currículo (Inglês, Alemão, Mandarim, etc.). Uma escola bilingue é aquela que permite que o aluno adquira quatro habilidades para se comunicar (falar, ouvir, ler e escrever) em um segundo idioma, levando em consideração, os aspetos culturais da segunda língua aprendida. Essas
habilidades, incluem uma perspetiva de ensino que permite que o aprendente compreenda as duas línguas (idioma), se opondo ao método de ensino baseado apenas na gramática e tradução. Essas habilidades compreendem à capacidade do aluno se comunicar e receber informações levando em consideração dois idiomas. Por conseguinte, é possível relacionar a globalização da informação com o papel da Escola como instituição formadora, ou seja, a importância da Escola em proporcionar ao aluno o acesso ao conhecimento sobre a diversidade linguística e desenvolvimento da consciência global da linguagem. Deste modo, busca-se compreender, por meio de uma análise qualitativa de artigos publicados nas Bases de Dados Bibliométricas Scopus, Web of Science e Google Académico de 2000 a 2019, as contribuições do ensino bilíngue para o desenvolvimento de competências linguísticas nas crianças, partindo de uma visão benéfica e inerente ao próprio indivíduo.
Globalization and the increasing use of technology have influenced social and business life, as well as the social, cultural and economic relations of individuals themselves. Nowadays the economy is globalized, which drives the interaction between cultures in an increasingly unlimited way. These relationships reach commercial, economic, social, or even educational spheres and interests. The search for information also reaches a global level, with the knowledge of new languages being of the utmost importance, mainly those belonging to the dominant world powers. In this sense, education being one of the areas responsible for collecting, treating and disseminating information and for preparing the individual for the globalized world, there are schools that come forward with a bilingual pedagogical proposal, that is, they adopt another language, besides the mother tongue, in their curriculum (English, German, Mandarin, etc.). A school that has a bilingual education approach is one that teaches its curriculum in two languages, the native, and the second language profile. Bilingual education enables learners to develop four communication skills (speak, listen, read, and write) to communicate in many contexts; the teaching process also involves the learning process of the cultural aspects of the second language. These skills include a teaching approach that allows the learner to understand both languages, as opposed to the method of teaching based only on translation. These skills include the ability to communicate and receive information taking into consideration two languages. In this sense, it is possible to relate the globalization of information with the school acting as a training institution, i.e., the importance of the school in providing the student with access to knowledge about linguistic diversity and development of a global language awareness. In this way, seek to understand, through a qualitative analysis of articles published in Scopus Bibliometric Databases and Web of Science from 2000 to 2019, the contributions of bilingual teaching to the development of language skills in children, starting from a perspective that is beneficial and inherent to the individual himself.
