Abstract(s)
This paper presents a study about some characterization processes of metallic alloys, more specifically shape memory alloys composed by Nickel and Titanium. For the study, the wires were obtained by two different suppliers. Initially, a metallographic analysis was performed where the contours of the grain of the wires could be observed. Differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) testing was also performed to obtain the phase transformation temperatures of NiTi alloys. Finally, after tensile tests, results were obtained for stresses, modulus of elasticity and maximum rupture deformation.
