Abstract(s)
The Music in Community Contexts course, taught at the Escola Superior de Educação of Bragança, presents itself with a concept marked by the insertion of its students in the local community, so that they can learn about different realities and prepare for the job market. In this way, Professional Practice (PP), which takes place in the 3rd year, is an integral part of this course and its inherent philosophy and allows for a necessary internship period so that the student can investigate and critically reflect on the practices musical and artistic in context. In this way, it is believed that an environment of personal and professional development can be envisioned. In summary, the internship comprises a period of observation, preparation of a plan and execution of it through projects in which music and expressions related to the arts take place. The objective is also to trigger a connection with the publics and institutions that host intern students. In 2021, the first group of students who developed their PP in a community context appears. In the midst of the pandemic, there were constraints that implied changes, adaptations of practices, whether by students or host institutions. This work aims to provide knowledge of some projects developed by students and observe the changes that have taken place at various levels, namely, with regard to professional training. It also seeks to illustrate the impact that their action had on the target audience. We can say that the fieldwork experience, centered on PP) is favorable to students, as it allows a first contact with institutions, which present themselves as true laboratories of practical experiences, taking advantage of the latter's interventions and artistic projects.
