Abstract(s)
Neste trabalho, elaborado por três alunos da disciplina de Sociologia do 12º ano,
pretende-se avaliar a perceção de alunos e professores sobre a eficácia da Educação
Sexual em meio escolar. Realizámos a nossa investigação com alunos e professores numa
escola com 3º ciclo e Ensino Secundário do norte do país, ao longo do ano letivo de
2012/2013. Pretendíamos saber que conhecimentos já dominam os alunos que entram na
escola (7ºano), se os alunos mais velhos (12ºano) percecionam os ensinamentos recebidos
como úteis e suficientes e se os professores se sentem confortáveis e preparados para
lecionar estas matérias. Os alunos do 7º ano de escolaridade revelaram desconhecimento
sobre matérias fundamentais e os alunos do 12º ano preferem discutir estes assuntos com
os amigos. A maioria dos professores considera que as horas definidas e os conteúdos são
adequados, veem a Educação Sexual como uma disciplina essencial e que é efetiva na
prevenção de doenças e na gravidez na adolescência mas que merece algumas alterações.
In this work, prepared by three Sociology students of the 12th grade, the purpose is to evaluate the perception by students and teachers about the effectiveness of Sexual Education in school. We conducted our research with students and teachers at a secondary school in the north of the country during the school year of 2012/2013.We wanted to know which knowledge the students entering the school (7th grade) already possess, if the older students (12th grade) perceive the received teachings as useful and sufficient and if the teachers feel comfortable and prepared to teach these subjects. Students in the 7th grade revealed a lack of knowledge about fundamental subjects and 12th-graders prefer to discuss these subjects with their friends. Most teachers consider that the allocated hours and the contents are adequate, they understand Sexual Education as an essential subject and state that it is effective in preventing diseases and teenage pregnancy and also that it needs some changes.
