Over the years, society in general, and industry in particular, have become increasingly aware of the impacts of human activities on the environment. Thus, issues related to the environment have gained notoriety. As a result, organizations are subject to more and more measures to reduce the impacts that their activities have on the environment. Therefore, an environmental audit was necessary to ensure compliance with environmental standards and avoid unnecessary costs to the organization, environmental damage, and public health consequences, as well as to provide assurance to customers that the company meets all necessary standards. It also makes it possible to implement the necessary measures to ensure compliance with requirements, correcting gaps in the EMS, identifying monitoring programs and environmental testing. On the other hand, it allows to demonstrate that the organization has a growing concern with its impacts on the environment. The company Konig Modulo Portugal, Lda. operates in the automotive industry since 2015, having as its main activity the manufacture of automobile exhaust pipe components. The company, showed concern with the impacts that their activities had on the environment and also with the image that passed to the outside, so the Top Management decided to implement an Environmental Management System (EMS) and try to grant the ISO 14001:2015 Certification.
