As tecnologias digitais assumem e tem desempenhado um papel importante na educação, oferecendo inúmeros benefícios. O processo de ensino e aprendizagem nos primeiros anos de vida de uma criança é essencial, em que há mais possibilidade de aprender qualquer conteúdo e adquirir conhecimento sobre o mundo que a rodeia, cada vez mais tecnológico e digital, desenvolvendo assim as suas competências. Em Cabo Verde a realidade de ensinar utilizando as tecnologias é pouco explorada, nomeadamente na educação pré-escolar, considerada a base e o pilar da educação, onde a criança começa a dar os primeiros passos da sua aprendizagem ao longo da vida. Assim sendo, este estudo visa conhecer o estado atual da utilização das tecnologias digitais na educação pré-escolar na cidade da Praia, segundo a perspetiva dos coordenadores infantis e também identificar se os jardins de infância dispõem de tecnologias digitais e as utilizam para o ensino e aprendizagem das crianças.
Digital technologies assume and have played an important role in education, offering numerous benefits. The teaching and learning process in the first years of a child’s life is essential, in which there is more possibility to learn any content and acquire knowledge about the world around him, increasingly technological and digital, thus developing his skills. In Cape Verde, the reality of teaching using technologies is little explored, namely in pre-school education, considered the basis and pillar of education, where children begin to take the first steps of their lifelong learning. Therefore, this study aims to know the current state of the use of digital technologies in pre-school education in the city of Praia, according to the perspective of the children’s coordinators, identify which digital technologies the children’s coordinators use to communicate with educators, parents and guardians and whether kindergartens have digital technologies and use them for the teaching and learning of children.
