Abstract(s)
Educação Pré-escolar e Ensino do 1.º Ciclo do Ensino Básico e Ensino do 1.º Ciclo e
Matemática-Ciências) que visam trabalhar os aspetos supracitados.
The documents: Referencial Educação para o Desenvolvimento and Estratégia Nacional de Educação para a Cidadania presented by the Ministry of Education define that education and training are essential for the future of our country. The first document aims at raising awareness and understanding of the causes of development problems and inequalities at local and global levels, in a context of interdependence and globalization, with the aim of promoting the rights and duties of all people, in order they participate and contribute to integral and sustainable development. The second document integrates a set of rights and duties that must be present in the citizenship formation of Portuguese children and young people, so that in the future they will be adults with a civic conduct that privileges equality in interpersonal relationships, integration of difference, respect for human rights and valorization of concepts and values of democratic citizenship, within the framework of the educational system, the autonomy of schools and the curricular documents in force. In this process, we consider that School through the literature provided to children (literary education) must assume a fundamental role, at all levels and cycles of education and teaching, providing the acquisition of knowledge, the development of capacities and the promotion of values, attitudes and behaviors that allow them to understand critically and informed participation in the face of local and global challenges, thus constructing a more just, inclusive and solidary world. In our article we will present some literary proposals presented within the curricular unit of Literature for Children (1st year of Masters in Pre-school Education and Teaching of the 1st Cycle of Basic Education and Teaching of the 1st Cycle and Mathematics- Sciences) that aim to work on the aforementioned aspects
