Abstract(s)
This study's main objectives were: evaluating the relationship between scrotal perimeter, air temperature and the scrotal surface temperature gradiant with the respective lamb seminal characteristics of the race Churra galega Bragançana during autumn. To that effect were utilized 6 adult ram of the mentioned race. The room temperature was measured using a termometer. The scrotal surface temperature gradient was measured with the aid of a thermal chamber and the scrotal perimeter with a metal metric tape. The ejaculate samples were evaluated for sperm volume, sperm concentration, ejaculate concentration, sperm motility and lastly the percentage of normal sperm cells. Considering the scrotal surface temperature gradient, lambs were divided in three groups: group 1 (≤ 5,4°C) , group 2 (5,5-6,4°C) e group 3 (≥ 6,5°C). Regarding the scrotal perimeter lambs were divided in 2 groups: group 1 (< 30 cm) e group 2 (≥ 30 cm).
