Abstract(s)
sociais, tecnológicos, económicos, legais e políticos do país. Atualmente, as melhorias
a todas elas.
The main objective of this investigation was to assess the contribution of a platform for learning in secondary education of the Sao Tome and Principe, specifically in science education. The integration of ICT in education has not been a priority due to the social, technological, economic, legal and political constraints of the country. Currently, the gradual improvements in communications infrastructure, new educational reforms and the perception of the importance of a society based on information and digital networks justifies the decisive steps towards the implementation of electronic learning. A platform for e-learning may not be a priority objective of a school of Sao Tome and Principe, but we believe that a goal may be common to all of them. In this perspective, the government policy for ICT in education could be by providing a learning platform for secondary education. Without wishing to generalize, this is first and foremost, one of the conclusions of this case study. Ultimately, we can conclude that the integration of a platform for open source elearning in the teaching learning science contribute significantly to captivate and motivate students. However, beside the needs of ICT training for some of the participants, activities and other learning objects (essentially documents in pdf, doc or ppt) provided by the teachers assumed as "Achilles heel" and therefore require increased concerns towards the success of science education supported by a platform of e-learning. We are aware of the difficulties of this process. However we believe that a little step forward has been given to improve the teaching and learning science through a learning platform.
