Estudo exploratório sobre as perceções da população imigrante residente no norte e interior de Portugal

| dc.description.abstract | A imigração implica uma transição ecológica (Bronfenbrenner & Morris, 2006), significativa e motivada por diversas causas. Perante a escassez de estudos face à população imigrante residente no norte e interior de Portugal foi desenvolvida uma investigação qualitativa e descritiva tendo como objetivos: (i) conhecer os motivos da imigração e a escolha da área geográfica; (ii) identificar as vivências positivas e negativas com a população residente; (iii) conhecer os desafios e as dificuldades vivenciados pelos imigrantes; e (iv) tecer reflexões sobre recomendações para os decisores políticos e comunidade em geral. Recorreu-se a um questionário aplicado a 60 inquiridos, o qual incluiu questões fechadas de índole sociodemográfico e percurso migratório e abertas (sobre os motivos da imigração e escolha do local de acolhimento, a identificação dos desafios e dificuldades, os relatos de uma situação pessoal vivenciada, positiva e negativamente, a elaboração de uma mensagem direcionada à população residente e aos políticos com vista à promoção de uma efetiva inclusão). Constatou-se uma diversidade de justificações face à imigração e à eleição da área geográfica. Perante as vivências de índole positiva ressaltou o bom acolhimento da população residente, não obstante, houve relatos de discriminação percecionados em diversos ambientes. Salientaram ainda a necessidade de promoção do respeito, da tolerância e solidariedade, bem como uma menor burocratização e o repensar das políticas de empregabilidade. Estes dados poderão concorrer para a construção um conhecimento comum e para a identificação de linhas de intervenção direcionadas, do ponto de vista político e formativo. | pt_PT |
| dc.description.abstract | Immigration implies an ecological transition (Bronfenbrenner & Morris, 2006), which is significant and motivated by several causes. Given the scarcity of studies on the immigrant population residing in the north and interior of Portugal, qualitative and descriptive research was developed with the following aims: (i) to understand the reasons for immigration and the choice of the geographical area; (ii) to identify the positive and negative experiences with the resident population; (iii) to understand the challenges and difficulties experienced by immigrants; and (iv) to reflect on recommendations for policy- makers and the community in general. A questionnaire was applied to 60 respondents, which included closed questions of sociodemographic nature and migratory background and open questions (about the reasons for immigration and the choice of the host location, the identification of challenges and difficulties, the reports of a personal situation experienced, positively and negatively, and the elaboration of a message addressed to the resident population and to politicians to promote effective inclusion). The factors that led to immigration and the choice of geographical area were multiple. Regarding the positive experiences, the respondents highlighted the good reception of the resident population, even though there were reports of discrimination perceived in various environments. They also highlighted the need to promote respect, tolerance, and solidarity, as well as less bureaucracy and a rethinking of employability policies. These data may contribute to constructing common knowledge and identifying targeted lines of intervention, from a political and training point of view. | pt_PT |
