As fake news não são um fenómeno recente, no entanto, no atual contexto da sociedade digital, com a facilidade de acesso à internet em qualquer lugar e a qualquer hora, a sua criação e divulgação é instantânea, reconhecendo-se como um dilema para a educação do mundo atual. Qualquer cidadão precisa de estar preparado para distinguir, entre a imensidão de notícias divulgadas, aquelas cuja informação é verdadeira ou falsa. O presente artigo tem como objetivo constituir um contributo para compreender as consequências das fake news na sociedade onde elas circulam numa escala entre a informação e a desinformação. A formação
de cidadãos responsáveis passa pela aposta na cidadania digital. Neste contexto, refletimos sobre algumas orientações para mitigar os efeitos das fake news.
Fake news is not a recent phenomenon. However, in the current context of digital society, with the easiness of access to the Internet anywhere and anytime, its creation and dissemination is instantaneous, being recognised as a dilemma for education in today's world. Every citizen needs to be prepared to distinguish from the immensity of disseminated news, those whose information is true or false. This article aims at being a contribution to understanding the consequences of fake news in a society where they circulate on a scale that ranges from information to desinformation. The education of responsible citizens requires a commitment to digital citizenship. In this context, we reason on some guidelines to mitigate its effects.
