| dc.description.abstract | A tradução tem assumindo um papel muito importante na sociedade moderna, uma vez que permite a partilha de ideias, conhecimentos, valores e uma variedade de informação entre diferentes culturas. Este papel também é fundamental para os avanços científicos, bem como tecnológicos, especialmente na era de conhecimento, onde existe uma forte procura de vários tipos de tradução, entre os quais a tradução técnica. Estes avanços marcaram a transição das traduções que eram feitas em ‘papel e com caneta’ para o trabalho com recurso às tecnologias de tradução assistida. Na tradução técnica esta transição trouxe maior legitimidade às traduções por ter contribuído para a rapidez de execução do trabalho e consequentemente uma maior produtividade, mais em consonância com as exigências atuais do mercado. Mais do que conhecer muitas línguas, o tradutor deve saber escrever, ou seja, saber transferir a informação de uma língua para outra, tendo em conta o estilo e as normas da cultura de chegada e da especificidade do texto. Na tradução técnica não é diferente, embora esteja associada a um tipo de tradução no qual a linguagem é mais objetiva e desprovida de criatividade, quando em contraponto com a tradução literária ou publicitária. Este relatório divide-se em duas partes, sendo a primeira o enquadramento teórico, onde serão abordados aspetos relacionados com a tradução técnica, tais como, o que a distingue da tradução científica, o papel das tecnologias na tradução técnica, as suas dificuldades, alguns conceitos erróneos, os fatores que promovem o seu sucesso e também se existe criatividade na tradução técnica. A segunda parte é dedicada à descrição das tarefas realizadas no decorrer do estágio, nomeadamente à tradução e à revisão de textos, à preparação de documentos a traduzir em memoQ e também à transcrição, reflexão critica e conclusão. | pt_PT |
| dc.description.abstract | In modern society, translation has assumed a crucial role as it enables the sharing of ideas, knowledge, values and a diversity of information among different cultures. This role is also crucial for scientific as well as technological advances, especially in the knowledge age, where there is a strong demand for various types of translation, including technical translation. These advances have changed the paradigm from hand-made translations to a context with computer-aided translation technologies. In technical translation this transition brought legitimacy to translations, thus having contributed to celerity and a consequent higher productivity, in accordance with current market demands. More than knowing many languages, the translators themselves must know how to write, that is, being able to transfer information from one language to another, bearing in mind the style and conventions of the target culture. As such, technical translation is not any different, although it is associated with a type of translation in which language is more objective and bereft of creativity. The report is divided into two parts, the first being the theoretical framework, where issues related to technical translation will be addressed, such as what differentiates it from scientific translation, the role of technology in technical translation, its difficulties, some misconceptions, the factors that promote its success and whether there is such thing as creativity in technical translation. The second part is devoted to describing the tasks performed during the internship, namely the translation and revision of texts, the preparation of documents to be translated in memoQ, transcriptions, followed by a critical reflection and conclusion. | pt_PT |
