| dc.description.abstract | Diferentes contextos de vida, nomeadamente o contexto académico superior, podem aumentar a exposição dos jovens a exigências e riscos perante a saúde. Os riscos são inerentes à condição humana, mas Antonovsky (1984) defende o desenvolvimento dos fatores individuais que possam associar-se a uma minimização destes riscos, no sentido de os ultrapassar ou inclusive de os tornar úteis noutros domínios. Se um jovem possui fatores de proteção fortes, poderá resistir mais do que outros, na mesma situação, a apresentar condutas pouco saudáveis. Os fatores de proteção interna incluem o autocontrolo, enquanto os externos são assegurados, principalmente, pelo apoio social da família e da comunidade (Luthar e Zigler, 2001). O estudo teve como objetivos identificar a influência do meio académico na modificação da satisfação com o suporte social e do autoconceito; conhecer o impacto das variáveis biológicas, socioeconómicas, demográficas e académicas nas varáveis em estudo.Abstract: Different contexts of life, namely the academic degree can increase the exposure of young people in front of new demands and health risks. Risks are inherent to the human condition, but Antonovsky (1984) advocates the development of individual factors that may be associated with a minimization of these risks, in order to overcome them or even to make them useful in other areas. If the young person has strong protective factors, may resist to present unhealthy behaviors I a stronger way than others in the same situation. The internal protective factors include self-control, while the outside are provided mainly by social support from family and community (Luthar and Zigler, 2001). Objectives: Identify the influence of Satisfaction with Social Support and Self-Concept in the process of adaptation and integration to Higher Education; To know the influence of biological, socioeconomic, demographic and academic in this process.
