Abstract(s)
XXI.
The current study aimed to evaluate the perception of climate change in students from Environmental Education and Social Education. This study was based on the application of one hundred and twenty-nine surveys by questionnaire to a nonprobabilistic sample of the College of Education of Bragança. It can be observed that climate change play an important role in everyday life, regardless of the gender, age group or academic year. It is an accomplished fact and it is continuously evolving. According to the survey respondents, climate change can trigger consequences in terms of quality of life of the population, as well as their health, security and intervention capacity in extreme weather events. The majority of survey respondents assume that human action is the main responsible vector for the evolution of climate change, admitting that they will be willing to reduce these impacts through their actions. If this is taken into account, through a behaviour change, it may be a change and a future awareness at the level of culture on the part of university students for the twenty-first century.
