Crenças de legitimação da violência sexual: um estudo exploratório em estudantes de Educação Social

| dc.description.abstract | Seja qual for o comportamento sexualmente abusivo perpetrado contra a vontade ou o consentimento de outra pessoa adulta, esta forma de violência sexual (VS) representa uma grave violação dos direitos humanos. O presente estudo, cujo tema é “Crenças de legitimação da violência sexual: um estudo exploratório em estudantes de Educação Social”, tem como objetivos analisar a prevalência de comportamentos sexualmente abusivos vivenciados e perpetrados pelos estudantes; analisar o grau de tolerância/ legitimação da VS e a capacidade empática dos estudantes, em função do género, da idade, do ano de escolaridade, da perceção dos estudantes enquanto vítimas/agressores, da presença de indicadores de vitimização e de perpetração de VS e da familiaridade com vítimas de VS e, compreender a relação entre o grau de legitimação da VS e a capacidade empática dos estudantes. A investigação apoia-se num estudo descritivo, exploratório e transversal, de natureza quantitativa, tendo como participantes 151 estudantes, de ambos os géneros, a frequentarem a licenciatura em Educação Social na Escola Superior de Educação do Instituto Politécnico de Bragança. Os dados foram recolhidos através de um inquérito por questionário constituído por quatro partes: dados sociodemográficos e formativos; indicadores de vitimização/perpetração de VS e familiaridade com uma vítima de VS; a versão portuguesa da Escala de Crenças sobre Violência Sexual (ECVS; Martins, Machado, Abrunhosa & Manita, 2012) e do Índice de Reatividade Interpesssoal (IRI; Limpo, Alves & Castro, 2010). Os principais resultados mostram que a maioria dos inquiridos não se percebe como vítima ou agressor de VS. De entre os indicadores de vitimização de VS mais comuns destacam-se o ser vítima de toques sexualmente indesejados. Também se constata, de um modo geral, a existência de uma capacidade empática relativamente elevada, sobretudo no género feminino e nos estudantes de 18 a 21 anos. Verifica-se ainda uma baixa tolerância/aceitação da VS, sobretudo, no género feminino, nos estudantes de 18 e os 21 anos e a frequentarem o segundo ano da licenciatura. Maiores níveis globais de empatia e de preocupação empática associam-se a uma menor tolerância/aceitação da VS. Os resultados obtidos são analisados em função do seu potencial para a formação dos Educadores Sociais. | pt_PT |
| dc.description.abstract | Whatever the abusive sexual behaviour committed against the will or consent of another adult, this form of sexual violence (SV) represents a serious violation of the human rights. This study, whose theme is "Beliefs concerning the legitimation of sexual violence: an exploratory study in students of Social Education", aims to analyse the prevalence of abusive sexual behaviours experienced and committed by students; analyse the degree of legitimation of SV and students’ empathetic ability, depending on the gender, age, schooling, of the students' perception as victims / aggressors, the presence of indicators of victimization and perpetuation of SV and familiarity with SV and victims; and understand the relationship between the level of tolerance/legitimation of SV and the students’ empathetic ability. The investigation is based on a descriptive, exploratory and transversal study of quantitative evaluation, having as participants 151 students, of both genders, who are graduating in Social Education in the Polytechnic Institute of Bragança. The data were collected through a questionnaire consisting of four parts: sociodemographic and educational data; indicators of victimization/perpetration of SV and familiarity with one victim of SV; a Portuguese version of the ECVS (Escala de Crenças sobre Violência Sexual; Martins, Machado, Abrunhosa & Manita, 2012) and the Index of Interpersonal Reactivity (IRI; Limpo, Alves & Castro, 2010). The main results show that the majority of the surveyed don’t see themselves neither as a victim nor as an offender of SV. Among the most common indicators of SV victimization it’s highlighted the victim of unwanted sexual touches. It is also clear that, in general, the existence of a relatively high empathic ability, especially in females and students between the ages of 18 and 21 years. There is still a low tolerance/acceptance of SV, especially among females, students aged between 18 and 21 years old and attending the second year of the degree course. Higher global levels of empathy and empathic concern are related to a lower tolerance/acceptance of SV. The results are analysed considering the potential to the training of Social Educators. | pt_PT |
