Caracterização da estrutura arbórea e ações de melhoria: o caso do campus do IPB

| dc.description.abstract | A importância das árvores urbanas e dos espaços verdes urbanos está na ordem do dia para a mitigação dos efeitos das alterações climáticas e na melhoria do bem-estar das pessoas nos grandes aglomerados urbanos. Neste contexto, aumentar o conhecimento sobre o património arbóreo é um primeiro passo para uma correta gestão das árvores nos espaços verdes. Este trabalho pretendeu demonstrar a importância das áreas arborizadas e de uma infraestrutura verde em zonas urbanas. A área de estudo foi o campus do IPB, Santa Apolônia, no município de Bragança, nordeste de Portugal. Foi realizado um inventário de árvores nas áreas das escolas ESTIG e AGRARIA, caracterizando a estrutura das árvores e identificando conflitos, saúde das árvores, risco de quebra/queda e outras questões relacionadas à arborização urbana. Como resultados, 514 indivíduos arbóreos, divididos em 46 espécies, foram identificados e geolocalizados. A altura, diâmetro e conflitos das árvores foram identificados durante o inventário. Neste trabalho foram ainda propostas soluções para mitigar e corrigir conflitos e a condição fitossanitária das árvores. Tendo em conta o levantamento geográfico e o inventário arbóreo, foram listadas um conjunto de Boas Práticas em arborização urbana, de forma a que possam ser utilizadas na correção de problemas identificados durante o presente trabalho e para evitar conflitos futuros. Os resultados obtidos permitiram ainda perceber que a estrutura arbórea do campus está bastante consolidada, conhecer quais as espécies que melhor se adaptam à área e que todo o trabalho dá um bom contributo para uma correta gestão das árvores em ambiente urbano. | pt_PT |
| dc.description.abstract | The tree structure of urban green spaces is the order of the day to mitigate the effects of climate change and improve the well-being of people in large urban areas. In this context, increasing knowledge about arboreal heritage is a first step towards the correct management of trees in green spaces. This work aimed to demonstrate the importance of wooded areas and a green infrastructure in urban areas. The study area was the IPB campus, Santa Apolônia, in the municipality of Bragança, northeastern Portugal. An inventory of trees was carried out in the areas of the ESTIG and AGRARIA schools, characterizing the structure of the trees and identifying conflicts, tree health, risk of breakage/fall and other issues related to urban afforestation. As a result, 514 arboreal individuals, divided into 46 species, were identified and geolocated. The height, diameter and conflicts of the trees were identified during the inventory. In this work, solutions were also proposed to mitigate and correct conflicts and the phytosanitary condition of the trees. Taking into account the geographic survey and the arboreal inventory, a set of Good Practices in Urban Afforestation was listed, so that it can be used to correct the tree conflicts identified during this work and avoid future issues. The results obtained also allowed us to understand that the tree structure of the campus is quite consolidated and to know which species are best adapted to the area.
