Abstract(s)
Meta-Analysis (PRISMA).
Medline Complete, Nursing & Allied Health Collection: Comprehensive).
Stroke survivors suffer many kinds of long-term consequences. Postural balance disorder is one of the well-recognized residual deficits and is often associated with social isolation and limited mobility, resulting in a decline in quality of life. Objective: To identify in the scientific literature the interventions of nurses in the rehabilitation of postural balance of people after stroke. Methods: Systematic literature review that followed the method proposed by the Joanna Briggs Institute and was written according to the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analysis (PRISMA). The inclusion criteria were: stroke survivors; adults ≥ 18 years, studies exploring non-invasive nursing interventions that promote balance, carried out in a rehabilitation context postural balance rehabilitation and with a time frame of 2023-2024 of articles indexed in the PubMed and EBSCOhost databases (CINAHL complete, Medline Complete, Nursing & Allied Health Collection: Comprehensive). After selecting the studies, nine were included which were eligible and answered the research question. Results: The evidence shows the following nurse interventions in postural balance rehabilitation of the person after stroke: rhythmic auditory stimulation training; technology-based rehabilitation interventions; conventional stroke rehabilitation exercises; vibration therapy; technology/virtual reality-based rehabilitation interventions; balance exercises with mirror therapy; use of physical exercise modules in gait and balance of stroke patients. Prevalence of assessment of people with stroke using the Berg Balance Scale (BBS), the Trunk Inability Scale (TIS),) and the Modified Barthel Index. Conclusion: Rehabilitation after a stroke is essential for patients to regain their motor, sensory and cognitive abilities, and it is essential that the Rehabilitation Nurse implements appropriate programs for each case in good time, thus ensuring that the quality of life of these people is maximized.
