O mundo de expressão portuguesa no Festival de Cinema de Avanca: encontro de mundos

| dc.description.abstract | O Festival de Cinema de Avanca festejou em 2021 o seu 25.º aniversário, uma existência resiliente, repleta de encontros, amizades, aventuras e muitos filmes. O cinema como 7.ª arte sempre se assumiu como um espaço e tempo de encontro(s), baseado na ideia de que a imagem em movimento era entendida como uma linguagem comum, o que alguns autores designam como esperanto visual (e.g. Brant, 1984 cit. Gottlieb, 2008; Detwieler, 2007). Durante os seus 25 festivais, o Avanca viajou por todo o mundo, mas entre estas viagens pretendemos incidir sobre o mundo de expressão portuguesa, a língua que ainda nos une a África, América do Sul e Ásia. A partir destas viagens, o Avanca começou a desenhar uma trajetória de coprodução de filmes, especialmente de documentários, em que os falantes de português dos quatro continentes se muniam de um passado comum e escreviam histórias sobre o presente e eventualmente o futuro. São exemplo desta convergência os documentários: “Sobre sonhos e liberdade” (Francisco Colombo e Marcia Paraiso, 2020); “Pretu Funguli” (Costa Valente e Monica Musoni, 2019); “Sonho longínquo no Equador” (Hamilton Trindade, 2017). Com base numa breve caracterização destes filmes, temos por objetivo refletir sobre a unidade, diversidade e identidade das nossas línguas, histórias e culturas que o cinema permitiu congregar no espaço-tempo de Avanca, freguesia de Estarreja, Aveiro, representado como epicentro de encontros multiculturais. Três documentários que permitem refletir sobre a forma como estes podem contribuir para a unidade diversa e multicultural que subjaz ao mundo de expressão portuguesa. | pt_PT |
| dc.description.abstract | The Avanca Film Festival celebrated its 25th anniversary in 2021, a life defined as resilient, full of gatherings, friendships, adventures and many films. Cinema as the 7th art has always come forward as a space and time for gathering(s), based on the idea that the moving image is understood as a common language, which some authors have named a visual Esperanto (e.g. Brant, 1984 cit. Gottlieb, 2008; Detwieler, 2007). Throughout its 25 festivals, the Avanca has travelled around the world, but among these journeys we aim to focus on the Portuguese-speaking world, the language that still unites us to Africa, South America and Asia. From these journeys, the Avanca designed a coproduction approach, particularly of documentary films, where Portuguese speakers from the 4 continents would make use of their common past and write stories about their present and eventually future. Examples of these crossroads are the documentaries “On dreams and freedom” (Francisco Colombo and Márcia Paraíso, 2020), “Pretu Funguli” (Costa Valente and Monica Musoni, 2019) and “Distant dream in the Equator” (Hamilton Trindade, 2017). Following a brief characterisation of these films, we intend to reflect upon the unity, diversity and identity of our languages, histories and cultures that cinema has allowed to amass in the space-time of Avanca, Estarreja, Aveiro, representative of the epicentre of multicultural gatherings. Three documentaries that allow us to reflect on how they can contribute to the diverse and multicultural unity that underlies the Portuguese-speaking world. | pt_PT |
