Este estudo, cujo título é Perceções da pessoa com deficiência face à formação e ao trabalho, tem como questão-problema que orienta a investigação: Qual é a realidade da inserção socioprofissional das PcD no mercado de trabalho? Perante esta questão estipularam-se os seguintes objetivos: (i) compreender a importância do trabalho; (ii) conhecer os fatores promotores da empregabilidade e (iii) evidenciar situações de exclusão social. Sustentado numa abordagem qualitativa, neste estudo empírico, exploratório, de carácter qualitativo foram realizadas entrevistas semiestruturadas a catorze PcD, de ambos os sexos, com idades compreendidas entre os 29 e os 62 anos, residentes e empregadas em Portugal. Os resultados demonstram que a importância do trabalho na vida dos entrevistados, sendo entendido como fonte de estabilidade económica, independência e sustento próprio/ familiar. Surge também como fonte de reconhecimento social e das capacidades dos trabalhadores. O trabalho é ainda apontado como uma forma de inclusão social ao proporcionar condições socioeconómicas e psicológicas primordiais para a sua participação na sociedade. Relativamente aos fatores que promovem a empregabilidade deste público-alvo, constata-se que a rede de contacto através de familiares, amigos e/ou pessoas conhecidas se assume como a principal forma de acesso ao trabalho nas PcD com menores qualificações académicas. O ser detentor de maiores qualificações académicas e a realização de formação especializada/qualificada, bem como de estágios em contextos reais de trabalho são apontados como fatores que contribuem para a empregabilidade da PcD. No que concerne às situações de discriminação, nenhum dos entrevistados reportou situações de discriminação no atual contexto de trabalho. Houve, contudo, alusão por parte de alguns dos entrevistados a situações e práticas discriminatórias no recrutamento/ acesso a determinados postos de trabalho, bem como a situações de exclusão social no contexto escolar.
This study, entitle is People with disabilities’ perceptions towards formation and employment, has as a research question: What is the reality of the socio-professional insertion of People with disabilities? The study has been conducted keeping in view the following objectives: (i) to comprise the importance of employment; (ii) to understand the factors that promote employability (iii) to identify situations of social exclusion. Based on a qualitative approach, in this empiric and exploratory study, semi-structured interviews were conducted with fourteen people with disabilities, both sexes, ages between 29 and 62 years, living and working in Portugal. The results highlight the importance of work in the interviewees' lives, being understood as a source of economic stability, independence and self / family sustenance. It also appears as a source of social recognition and workers' capacities. Work is also pointed as a way of social inclusion by providing participants’ socioeconomic and psychological conditions primordial for their participation in society. Also, the contact network through family, friends and/or acquaintances is assumed to be the main form of access to work for people with disabilities with lesser academic qualifications. Being the holder of higher academic qualifications and carrying out specialized/qualified training, as well as internships in real work contexts are identified as other factors that contribute to the employability of people with disabilities. None of the interviewees reported situations of discrimination in the current work context. However, some interviewees alluded to discriminatory situations and practices in recruiting / accessing certain jobs, as well as to situations of social exclusion in the school context.
