- Evolution of the HDI in African countries: Impact factors and opportunities for project improvementsPublication . Chakik, Meriyem; Nunes, AlcinaThe Human Development is an initiative that was introduced in Africa and that aims at fighting against poverty, precariousness and social exclusion through the implementation of numerous social projects. This latter support basic infrastructure for training and building social, cultural and sports activities, as well as promoting activities that generate income and employment. Elimination of poverty, precariousness and social exclusion are the main objectives of Human Development. Because of this, this study will focus on understanding which indicators may work or not, to make the Human Development Index to evolve positively over time, therefore, in the managerial aspects and will help introducing renewal in the management methods by placing the individual at the heart of national priorities. The present work, used a multiple regression model, applied for human development index (HDI) of twenty-one African countries, with the lowest HDI, over the period from 2005 to 2016. The variables chosen to explain the variation in the HDI, total exports, official development assistance, external debt and government expenditure. the latter has been found to be the most positively correlated to human development of twelve countries, for the development assistance have different impact, where five countries record a positive relationship, and two are negatively affected by each unit increase of development assistance. Exports affects only five countries development. External debt affects positively five countries and negatively two African countries. Five countries show no significant relation to the variables and their human development. The project will achieve a considerable progress in improving the managerial system, the accountability, the transparency of decision making and the implementation process at the local level in Africa. This thesis will have the dual purpose to put plans, implement strategies for the achievement of the HD projects and encourage funding and contributions from different countries and organizations.
