Abstract(s)
aprendizagem.
This report focuses on the education action carried out within the scope of the curricular unit of Supervised teaching practice (PES) applied at daycare, pre-school education and primary school education – 1º cycle (1ºCEB), integrated in the pre-school and primary school teaching education master’s degree, entitled “Media in children’s learning process”. Supervised teaching practice occurred at a daycare, a pre-school and finally at a primary school – 1º cycle. In each context we conducted several teach-learn experiences, considering the curricular articulation, the children’s interests, and their learning rhythm. In order to conduct this education action, we gathered and followed official documents and pedagogical practice guides, more specifically, educational values in daycare, curricular guides of pre-school education and curricular goals of primary school education – 1º cycle. With this investigation, it was meant to achieve the following objectives: (i) understand the importance children perceive regarding media in their daily life; (ii) learning how many hours a day, in average, a child spends using the media and its purpose; (iii) study the children’s perspective about the importance of media in their learning process, when used in their classroom; (iv) analyze data collected in an educational context, whether or not media was beneficial in the children’s learning process. The current report takes part on an investigative approach of qualitative nature, which used different technics and instruments for data collection, like direct observation of the participants, field notes and photographic records. A survey was given to a thirdgrade class of 17 students, in a primary school. During the practical investigation, a reflective and critical attitude was adopted regarding the project being developed. The results obtained in this study demonstrate that children are really connected to the media, as it takes part of their daily lives, and therefore is an important tool to motivate them in their learning process.
