Luz e sombra em mensagem de Fernando Pessoa

Abstract

A Mensagem de Fernando Pessoa é uma obra marcada por uma forte riqueza simbólica e com inesgotáveis potencialidades interpretativas. Neste caso, analisou-se o contraste luz/sombra, considerando- se que o Quinto Império é anunciado como teatro do dia claro e o sebastianismo que percorre a obra é mistério e nevoeiro. Observado o valor simbólico que pode ser atribuído a estes termos e analisadas as ocorrências de vocábulos que remetem para eles, concluiu-se que existe um elevado número de ocorrências de vocábulos associados à luz e que esta se relaciona com o heroísmo, o conhecimento e o Quinto Império. A sombra que atravessa a obra remete para o desconhecido, o perigo e, também, para o que, estando oculto, pode ser desvendado. Associa-se, deste modo, ao mito sebástico.

The Message by Fernando Pessoa is a work marked by a strong symbolic richness and inexhaustible potential interpretations. In this case, we have looked upon the contrast light / shadow, once that the Fifth Empire it announce will be the stage of daycourse and Sebastianism represents mystery and fog. Having in mind the symbolic value that could be attributed to these terms, and analyzed the occurrence of words that are relate to them, we conclude that the number of occurrences of words associated with the light is higher and that this may be related to the heroism, the knowledge and the Fifth Empire , while the shadow refers to the unknown, the danger, but also to what, being hidden, can be solved by joining to the sebastian myth.
