Abstract(s)
A educação ambiental no contexto atual é de fundamental importância no que toca à preservação ambiental do nosso planeta. É importante sensibilizar e capacitar as crianças e jovens, pois eles são o futuro do planeta. A escola como organização de elevada responsabilidade na formação dos cidadãos, deve cumprir o papel de consciencializar sobre os problemas ambientais e deixar claro como amenizá-los ou evitá-los. O presente trabalho tem como objetivo principal: promover, estimular a criatividade e aplicar a educação ambiental entre os alunos do primeiro ciclo do ensino básico, por meio da elaboração de brinquedos feitos com resíduos sólidos reutilizáveis. A par dessa sensibilização pretende-se também divulgar aos professores atividades promotoras da reutilização dos resíduos, de forma que as crianças sejam incentivadas a reutilizar resíduos que de outra forma iriam para o lixo. É urgente insistir na ideia de que os resíduos têm o seu valor e podem ser (re)utilizados de várias formas, antes de serem descartados ou reciclados. Neste âmbito recorremos à Metodologia de Investigação - Ação que se caracteriza pelo seu caráter participativo, aplicando questionários para recolher dados relevantes e realizando atividades práticas em sala de aula. Os resultados evidenciam que a implementação deste tipo de atividades poderá promover sentimentos pró-ambientais nas crianças contribuindo para o seu papel ativo na sociedade no que respeita à valorização e proteção do ambiente.
Environmental education in the current context as fundamental importance regarding the environmental preservation of our planet. It is essential to raise awareness and empower children and young people, as they are the future of the planet. The school, as an organization with a high responsibility in citizens education, must fulfill the role of raising awareness about environmental issues and making clear how to mitigate or avoid them. The main objective of this work is to promote, stimulate creativity, and apply environmental education among Primary School students, through the creation of toys and other materials made from reusable solid waste. Alongside this awareness, we also aim to inform teachers about activities that promote the reuse of waste, so that children are encouraged to reuse materials that would otherwise go to waste. It is urgent to emphasize the idea that waste has value and can be (re)used in various ways before being discarded or recycled. In this context, we resort to the Action-Research Methodology, which is characterized by its participatory nature, applying questionnaires to collect relevant data and conducting practical activities in the classroom. The results highlight that the implementation of this type of activities may promote pro-environmental feelings in children, contributing to their active role in society regarding the appreciation and protection of the environment.
