Construindo pontes – um projeto em pais de crianças com necessidades Especiais (CNE) em Portugal

dc.description.abstractO  Projeto  europeu  “Psi‐Well:  Construir  Pontes  em  pais  de  crianças  com  necessidades  especiais  (NE)”,  tem  como  objetivos,  conhecer  o  tipo  de  NE  das  crianças, promover a inclusão social e bem‐estar das famílias na europa, através de  um programa de intervenção para pais de CNE.  Estudo exploratório, quantitativo, descritivo e transversal, realizado entre  março e julho de 2017, numa amostra, de Portugal, do tipo bola de neve de 274 pais  de crianças com NE.   Maioritariamente, a amostra era constituída por pais do género feminino  (65%), casados (61,3%) e com menos de 40 anos (54%). A maioria dos pais tinha 2  (49,6%) ou 1 (38%) crianças e até 3 ou mais crianças (10,4%), revelando que os pais  de CNE também têm outros filhos. As CNE apresentavam 41 tipos de deficiência,  principalmente:  Problemas  de  Aprendizagem  (35,5%)  e  Distúrbios  Emocionais  (26,3%), seguidos de NE do tipo cognitivo e comportamental: 25,5% das crianças,  apresentava  Perturbação  Comportamental  e  18,6%  comprometimento  cognitivo,  Deficite de Atenção e Hiperatividade (DAHA) (18,2%), deficiência intelectual (15,7%),  desordem do espectro autista (11,7%) e paralisia cerebral (4%).  Este conjunto de NE, embora não sendo exatamente patologias biológicas,  são fenómenos que causam problemas e dor emocional: perturbam o contexto da  aprendizagem,  nas  relações  escolares  e  interpessoais  na  família.  Isto  é  muito  incapacitante  e  perturbador  para  cuidadores  e  crianças:  tanto  a  nível  dos  pais  quanto dos filhos. Os resultados evidenciam a pertinência da aplicação deste Projeto  em Portugal e da Formação de Pais, no sentido do seu bem‐estar, na vivência da  parentalidade de CNE e para a sua inclusão social.pt_PT
dc.description.abstractThe European Project "Psi‐Well: Building Bridges in parents of children with special needs (CSN)”, aims to know the type of SN of children, promote social inclusion and well‐being of families in Europe, through an intervention of a training program for parents of CSN. An exploratory, quantitative, descriptive and cross‐sectional study was conducted between March and July of 2017 using a snowball sample of 274 Portuguese parents with CSN. Most parents was female (65%), married (61.3%), and less than 40 years old (54%). The majority of parents has 2 (49.6%) or 1 (38%) children, and even with 3 or more children (10.4%). These numbers reveal that parents of CSN have other children too. The CSN presented 41 types of disabilities, mainly, Learning Problems (35.5%) and Emotional Disturbance (26.3%), followed by cognitive and behavioural SN: 25.5% of the children, presented Behavioural Disturbance and 18.6% presented Cognitive impairment, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (DAHA) (18.2%), intellectual disability (15.7%), Autism Spectrum Disorder (11.7%) and Cerebral Paralysis (4%). This set of SN, although not exactly biological pathologies are phenomena that cause problems and emotional pain: disrupt the context of learning in school and interpersonal relationships in the family. This is very disabling and disturbing for caregivers and children: both at the parents and children's level. Results show evident the pertinence of the application of this Project in Portugal, and the Training Program for parents well‐being, in parenting living with CSN and social inclusion.
