Abstract(s)
Physical inactivity is very present in developed societies, with strong implications for public health. Metabolic diseases are among those that have contributed the most to the reduction in the quality of life of the population in general and to the increased risk of premature death. Objectives: To build a digital tool that aims to contribute to the increase in the practice of physical activity in a nature context, directed at individuals with metabolic diseases or at high risk of developing them. Methods: The work was previously outlined in work stages organized in the temporal space in the treatment and collection of information on metabolic diseases and on the hiking trails inserted in nature in the county area of Bragança. Ten short route routes that were approved and published by the city hall of Bragança were chosen and classified according to their difficulty of execution. Project development: Information was collected and face-to-face characterization of hiking trails in the county area of Bragança and, later, information was collected on type 2 diabetes mellitus, metabolic syndrome, and non-alcoholic fatty liver as to its etiology, pathophysiology, diagnosis and prevention through the practice of physical exercise. All this information was processed and placed in a mobile application format so that the potential user is informed about each of the diseases and can combine the practice of physical exercise in a natural context through the georeferencing system, doing it in a safe way, interactive and oriented. Conclusions: We believe that the choice of the mobile application format for the purpose of informing the population about metabolic diseases and their prevention is adequate to the present day. The access to the product is available to anyone, allowing its use for the promotion of physical exercise for health benefits is always updated to new recommendations, guidelines or new routes in nature, with the highest portability possible via mobile phone.
