Com a crescente influência dos Estudos da Tradução e a sua relevância na investigação
das diferentes modalidades, a Tradução Audiovisual tem desenvolvido um papel importante no
que se refere a mediação, garantindo o direito ao acesso das pessoas com deficiência visual e
auditiva nos espaços artístico-culturais.
À vista disso, o presente trabalho configura-se como relatório de projeto, fundamentado
a partir dos pressupostos teóricos da Tradução Audiovisual aplicados no âmbito museológico.
Através da audiodescrição, uma das ferramentas utilizadas para inclusão, foi possível
implementar a acessibilidade sensorial para públicos cegos e com baixa visão nas exposições
Humanidade e Olhos azuis do mar, patentes no Centro de Arte Contemporânea Graça Morais,
e na exposição Metamorfoses da Humanidade no Museu Nacional de Arte Contemporânea do
Chiado e no Museu Nacional Soares dos Reis, pelo intermédio de recursos de baixo custo.
Ademais da implementação da audiodescrição nos museus citados anteriormente, serão
apresentadas algumas experiências vivenciadas dentro e fora do contexto português, para além
de atividades paralelas desenvolvidas a fim de complementar este projeto.
With the growing influence of Translation Studies and its relevance in the investigation of different modalities, Audiovisual Translation have developed an important role with regard to mediation, guaranteeing the right of access for people with visual and hearing impairments in artistic-cultural venues. Therefore, the present work is set forward as a project report, based on the theoretical assumptions of Audiovisual Translation applied in the museum context. Through audio description, one of the tools used for inclusion, it was possible to implement sensory accessibility for blind and visually-impaired audiences at Humanity and Blue Eyes of the Sea exhibits, held at the Graça Morais Contemporary Art Centre, and Metamorphoses of Humanity exhibition at the National Museum of Contemporary Art – Chiado Museum and the Soares dos Reis National Museum, by means of low-cost resources. In addition to the implementation of audio description in the aforementioned museums, some experiences were carried out inside and outside the Portuguese context, in addition to parallel activities developed in order to complement this project.
