Abstract(s)
amostra compreendeu 62 indivíduos, recaindo no sexo masculino e no sexo feminino,
Emotional dependence is a recent, current and highly relevant topic for Social Education, as it comprises socio-emotional behaviors and attitudes. This research addresses the perspective of young people regarding the presumed existence of emotional dependence in their own dating relationships, with the question being: “How does emotional dependence affect young people in their own intimate relationships?”. The general objective of this study focused on analyzing the possible existence of emotional dependence in young people in their dating relationships and the specific objectives were to recognize the sex most affected by emotional dependence and identify the area of emotional dependence (cognitive area, emotional area , behavioral area) most affected in both sexes. For a better understanding of the topic, this investigation consisted, firstly, of a theoretical basis and in a second part, an empirical investigation of a quantitative nature, favoring, as a data collection instrument, the questionnaire survey. The sample comprised 62 individuals, male and female, aged between 18 and 29 and who were currently or had previously been in a dating relationship. When administering the questionnaire, ethical criteria were met. Participants were informed in advance about the research in question and the objectives set for this study. It is also noted that participation was voluntary and confidential, as the anonymity of participants was always respected. The results obtained allowed us to conclude that the young population is aware of what emotional dependence is, justifying it as a need for emotional satisfaction. It was also found that young females and males are affected in different areas of human development In this sense, this study allowed us to achieve significant results on the topic of emotional dependence in dating relationships, contradicting some existing studies on this topic.
