| dc.description.abstract | Este estudo pretende reflectir sobre o contributo das bibliotecas escolares e seus recursos para a construção do conhecimento na escola. Num momento inicial do trabalho, reflectimos sobre as condições genéricas do contexto escolar em que desenvolvemos a Prática de Ensino Supervisionada (PES) e sobre as práticas mais frequentes de ensino-aprendizagem no 1º e 2º ciclos do ensino básico. De seguida, através de uma perspectiva histórica, reflectimos sobre o papel das bibliotecas ao longo do tempo até à actual Sociedade da Informação. Debruçamo-nos, particularmente, sobre a evolução e missão das actuais bibliotecas escolares, enquanto estruturas educativas, pedagógicas e centros de aprendizagem, discutindo o seu papel na promoção do sucesso educativo. Trata-se de um trabalho de investigação e reflexão, cujo propósito primordial consiste em reconhecer a necessidade de, na actual sociedade da informação, nos empenharmos na criação de uma nova cultura educativa que promova a interacção, a autonomia e o sentido crítico entre todos os intervenientes na comunidade escolar. Nesse sentido, o estudo partiu duma pesquisa bibliográfica que permitiu estabelecer a evolução dos conceitos principais da fundamentação teórica, na área das Bibliotecas. O estudo empírico foi realizado na Escola Básica e Secundária de Macedo de Cavaleiros, para o qual usámos um questionário a um total de 33 alunos (1º ciclo e 2º ciclo do Ensino Básico) O Modelo utilizado foi produzido pela Rede de Bibliotecas Escolares, e constitui-se num instrumento pedagógico para a avaliação do desenvolvimento coerente e consequente de novas metodologias de aprendizagem. Apesar da universalidade da nossa aplicação, o modelo permite avaliar a variabilidade imposta pelo contexto em que cada biblioteca se insere.This research aims to reflect on the contribution of the school libraries and their resources for the knowledge construction in school. Firstly, we reflect on the general conditions of the school context in which we develop the Supervised Teaching Practice (STP) and on the most frequent practices of teaching and learning in the 1st and 2nd cycles of basic education. Through a historical perspective, we reflect on the role of the libraries throughout the time until the present Information Society. We focus on the evolution and mission of the current school libraries, as educational, pedagogical structures and learning centres, pointing out their role in the promotion of the educational success. This is a work of investigation and reflection, whose main goal consists of recognizing the need of engagement in the creation of a new educational culture in the present Information Society that promotes interaction, autonomy and critical sense among school community. Thus, the study is based on a bibliographical research that allows to establish the evolution of the main concepts of the theoretical basis, in the area of the libraries. The empirical study was carried out in the Basic and Secondary School of Macedo de Cavaleiros, supported by an inquiry launched to a total of 33 students (1st and 2nd cycles of Basic Teaching). The model used was produced by School Libraries Network, and consists in a pedagogical instrument in the evaluation of the coherent and consequent development of new learning methodologies.
