Devido à demanda internacional do mercado e de interessados pelo meio ambiente evidencia-se a evolução da certificação ambiental/florestal para proteção do meio ambiente, porém o conhecimento das normas e certificações florestais/ambientais é limitado, não sendo amplamente divulgado não sensibiliza o consumidor final. O Forest Stewardship Council (FSC®) é um esquema de certificação florestal, e possui o maior número de certificados de Cadeia de Custódia ou Chain of Custody (CoC) do mundo, com mais de 43 mil certificados e 211 milhões de hectares, o Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFCTM), é o esquema com maior área certificada de Gestão Florestal ou Forest Management (FM), com 325 milhões de hectares certificados e mais de 20 mil certificados CoC. Ambos os esquemas de certificação florestal são independentes, possuem uma série de normas e critérios envolvendo organismos certificadores, organizações certificadas ou que desejam certificação e partes interessadas (pessoas e organizações) que são afetadas pela atividade que é ou será certificada. Quando respeitados e cumpridos os critérios, estes elevam os padrões e promovem o desenvolvimento sustentável nas suas três vertentes, ambientais, sociais e econômicas. Como pontos principais nota-se a melhoria significativa dos padrões e condições relacionadas à segurança do trabalho em organizações certificadas e também o aumento do preço de produtos certificados bem como maior acesso ao mercado internacional. A dupla certificação é uma alternativa de versatilidade aplicada por organizações para ampliar seus negócios. Foi desenvolvido um questionário para avaliar o conhecimento sobre produtos certificados que permitiu uma breve análise sobre o alcance e interpretação das pessoas quanto aos esquemas de certificação ambiental/florestal, constatando-se que apenas 47% dos participantes procuram por produtos com certificados ambientais/florestais, além disso, é confirmado que o conhecimento do logotipo do FSC é mais abrangente que o do PEFC. Mesmo em contexto de pandemia, este estágio profissional permitiu a prática dos conhecimentos adquiridos para a validação do título acadêmico de Mestrado, bem como o aperfeiçoamento profissional/pessoal.

The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC®) is a forest certification scheme, it has the largest number of Chain of Custody (CoC) certificates in the world, with more than 43,000 of certificates and 211 million hectares, the Program for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFCTM) is the scheme with the largest certified area of Forest Management (FM) area, with 325 million hectares and more than 20 thousand CoC certificates. Both forest certification schemes are independent, have a series of standards and criteria involving certifying bodies, certified organizations or organizations that are willing the certification and interested parties (people and organizations) that are affected by the activity that is or will be certified. When the criteria are respected and met, they raise the standards and promote sustainable development in its three aspects, environmental, social and economic. The main points are the significant improvement in standards and conditions related to job security in certified organizations and also the increase in the price of certified products as well as greater access to the international market. Double certification is an alternative of versatility applied by organizations to expand their business. A questionnaire was developed to assess the knowledge about certified products that allowed a brief analysis of the reach and interpretation of people regarding environmental / forest certification schemes, showing that only 47% of participants look for products with environmental / forest certification, in addition, it is confirmed that knowledge of the FSC logo is more knowed than of PEFC logo. Even in the context of a pandemy, this Professional Internship allowed the practice of the knowledge acquired for the achievment of the academic title of master’s degree, as well as professional / personal enhancement.
