Abstract(s)
O artigo que aqui se apresenta tem como principal objetivo explicitar a importância da gestão de
projetos de tradução e de localização na sociedade da informação e do conhecimento atual,
nomeadamente no que diz respeito às principais formas de os controlar em termos da qualidade, dos
custos e dos prazos. Este texto está dividido em duas partes principais. Na primeira parte será
apresentado um enquadramento teórico sobre os aspetos mais importantes na história da tradução. O
objetivo da segunda parte do artigo é justificar a necessidade de um gestor de projetos de tradução
nesta sociedade do século XXI e exemplificar algumas das suas principais funções. Em seguida
explicaremos os mecanismos essenciais para controlar um projeto de tradução: gestão de prazos
(Gráficos de GANTT e redes de PERT); gestão de custos (orçamentos) e indicadores de qualidade
(diretrizes ou caraterísticas para assegurar uma boa tradução).
The main objective of this article is to explain the importance of the management of translation and localization projects in the current information and knowledge society, in particular with regard to the main ways of controlling them in terms of quality, costs and deadlines. This text is divided into two main parts. In the first part, a theoretical framework on the most important aspects in the history of translation will be presented. The purpose of the second part of the article is to justify the need for a translation project manager in this 21st century society and to exemplify some of its main functions. Next, we will explain the essential mechanisms to control a translation project: management of deadlines (GANTT charts and PERT networks); cost management (budgets) and quality indicators (guidelines or characteristics to ensure a good translation).
