Abstract(s)
As
informações acerca da sua tipologia;
enquadrados em estratégias cientificamente aceites;
com a perspetiva construtivista do ensino e aprendizagem;
4) Contribuir para um aperfeiçoamento dos manuais escolares,
nomeadamente no aumento da cientificidade das atividades
experimentais propostas.
In our country the Experimental Science Teaching has some difficulties taking into regard weak training in this area and also the limited laboratory resources in schools. On the other hand, it is accepted by the whole scientific community that Science Experimental Teaching is essential for the citizens’ scientific literacy training, but it’s also recognized that experimental activities provide a better interaction among pupils and the development of their attitudes and transverse skills. Simultaneously schoolbooks are recognized as an influent resource of teachers’ pedagogic methods, usually working as long term teaching activity planning, beyond being accepted by the community as nuclear tools in learning process. Thus, the main aims of this study are: 1) Analyse the schoolbooks of “Estudo do Meio1ºciclo do Ensino Básico” ( Social Studies -1st grade) in order to understand if they stimulate the practice of experimental activities and get information about its typology; 2) Analyse if the existent experimental activities are selected under the accepted scientific level; 3) Understand if the experimental activities are according to the constructive view of teaching /learning process; 4) Contribute to an improvement of schoolbooks, namely the increase of scientific level of the requested experimental activities. The analysis focused on two textbooks of Natural and Social Sciences 5. And 6. Basic school of São Tomé and Príncipe.
