A degradação do ambiente e dos recursos naturais pela ação do próprio homem são temas
urgentes. Neste contexto, encontramos respaldo para uma ação ambiental na Escola
Viriato Corrêa (Brasil), trazendo esta problemática para o seu quotidiano e reflexão, no
sentido de se procurarem soluções e mudanças de atitudes. O presente trabalho baseiana análise do contributo do Projeto Escolar sobre Educação Ambiental, para a
sensibilização de professores e alunos. O Projeto envolveu várias ações, versando
diálogos, discussões, ideias e implementação de atividades, através de grupos de
trabalhos, direcionadas para a comunidade escolar, em que alunos e professores se
tornaram importantes atores sociais e articuladores do projeto. Assim, o trabalho tem como
finalidade analisar o impacto do projeto de Educação Ambiental na Escola Viriato Correa
na perspetiva dos professores e dos alunos participantes. A investigação realizada foi de
natureza qualitativa, e para a recolha de dados recorremos à aplicação de um questionário
aos professores e à realização de entrevistas aos alunos. Os resultados revelam quais as
atividades que foram mais relevantes, as experiências vivenciadas durante o projeto e,
também quais as mudanças que causou na sua visão sobre o ambiente, além de sugestões
para projetos futuros. A perceção ambiental apresentada após a realização dessas
atividades foi avaliada pela comunidade escolar, que participou ativamente procurando
soluções para melhorar a qualidade de vida no ambiente escolar e na comunidade ao
entorno, tronando-se multiplicadores de ações pró-ambientais. A partir dos resultados
obtidos, podemos afirmar que o desenvolvimento do projeto de caráter interdisciplinar
contribuiu para a sensibilização acerca da problemática ambiental. A sugestão mais
relevante foi a expansão do projeto de Educação Ambiental para a Secretaria de Educação
para que possa ser implementado em outras escolas. Desta forma, concluímos que ao
partilhar boas práticas e resultados positivos, é possível ter maior impacto e disseminar a
Educação Ambiental, estimulando a sua implementação em outras instituições de ensino.

In this context, there is support for environment action at Viriato Corrêa School (Brazil), bringing this problem into its daily life and reflection to seek solutions and changes in attitudes. This work is based on the contribution of the School Project Environmental Education to raise awareness among teachers and students. It involves various actions such as dialogues, discussions, ideas, and activity implementation through working groups, targeting the school community, where students and teachers become important social actors and project facilitators. Its purpose is to analyze the impact of the Environmental Education project at Viriato Corrêa School from the perspective of participating teachers and students. The research conducted was qualitative nature, and data collection involved administering a questionnaire to teachers and conducting interviews with students. The results reveal the most relevant activities, experiences gained during the project, changes in their perception of the environment, and suggestions for future projects. The environment awareness presented after the completion of these activities was evaluated by the school community, which actively participated in seeking solutions to improve the quality of life within the school environment and the community, thus becoming advocates for proenvironmental actions. Based on the obtained results, we can affirm that the development of this interdisciplinary project contributed to raising awareness on environmental issues. The most significant suggestion was to expand the Environmental Education project to the Department of Education for implementation in other schools. Therefore, we conclude that by sharing good practices and positive results, it is possible to have a greater impact and disseminate the importance of Environmental Education, stimulating its implementation in other educational institutions.
