O cenário 1 representa a substituição
Water is an irreplaceable resource for human life, environmental preservation and the economic development of nations. Given its importance, the need to optimize its use emerged, also known as water efficiency. Among the sectors that need water for its operation, there are some recreation activities, such as municipal swimming pools. Swimming pools are highly sought as a type of facility for various purposes, and their use has been increasing frequently. Therefore, new measures need to be implemented to improve the management of this resource in these locations. With this objective, the dissertation analysed alternatives to be applied in the case of the pools of the municipal complex of Bragança. From the data obtained from the average flow rates of the devices for use in the complex: showers, washbasin taps and toilets, it was concluded that it would be possible to reduce consumption by replacing taps and showers for water efficient devices classified by a national labeling system. In addition to the replacement, the simple regulation of the cisterns reduced the discharge volume. With this, some scenarios were determined, all considering the regulation of the toilet flush since this measure has no cost. Scenario 1 represents the replacement of taps, scenario 2 is related to the replacement of showers, scenario 3 is the union of scenario 1 and 2. The percentages of consumption reduction for each scenario was 7%, 24% and 30%, respectively. Regarding costs, the return time of the investment obtained was 7, 1 and 2 months, respectively.
