Os sistemas de saúde, quaisquer que sejam eles, têm como objetivo principal melhorar o estado de saúde da população devendo, para este efeito, colocar à disposição dos cidadãos serviços adequados.
Neste sentido, os progressos verificados ao longo dos anos no ramo imagiológico, sempre estiveram intimamente ligados ou potenciaram o desenvolvimento ocorrido noutras áreas da medicina. Esse facto foi determinante para a melhoria do conhecimento e diagnóstico das patologias do ser humano.
Tendo em vista a importância que esta área vem tendo no que diz respeito ao diagnóstico e tratamento de doenças, este estudo incidiu sobre o Serviço de Imagiologia existente em Cabo Verde. Tem como principais objetivos entender melhor o funcionamento do serviço público, apresentou-se uma proposta de intervenção, indicando medidas que deverão ser aplicadas para melhoria do serviço atual tanto a nível da distribuição dos equipamentos, padronização da marca dos mesmos, apontar a necessidade da criação de um plano de manutenção preventiva e ainda medidas para melhorar os défices de pessoal existente, e repensar o conceito de telemedicina para redução da necessidade de evacuações tanto internas como externas.
Foi utilizado como metodologia a recolha de dados quantitativos referente aos recursos humanos e à sua distribuição, pesquisas bibliográficas baseando-se em relatórios estatísticos.
Uma das motivações para o tema escolhido, foi fazer um estudo que poderá servir de auxílio no desenvolvimento de planos para melhoria deste serviço a nível prático.
Concluiu-se que há medidas práticas que se poderão adotar para melhoria do serviço de imagiologia atual, focando primeiramente na criação de um Serviço de Instalação de Equipamentos e na criação de planos para descentralizar a distribuição de recursos humanos.
Health systems, whatever their purpose, are primarily aimed at improving the health status of the population and, to this end, providing adequate services to citizens. In this sense, the progress has been made over the years in the field of imaging that has always been closely linked or enhanced with the development of other areas of medicine. This fact was determinant for the improvement of the knowledge and diagnosis of the pathologies of the human being. Considering the importance that this area is having regarding the diagnosis and treatment of diseases, this study focused on the existing Imaging Service in Cape Verde. It has as main objectives to better understand the operation of this service, a proposal for intervention was presented, indicating measures that should be applied to improve the current service both in terms of equipment distribution, brand standardization, it was pointed out the need to create a preventive maintenance plan as well as measures to improve staff deficits and rethink the concept of telemedicine to reduce the need for both internal and external evacuations. The methodology used was the collection of quantitative data on human resources and their distribution, bibliographical research focusing on statistical reports. One of the motivations for the chosen theme was to make a study that could help in the development of plans to improve this service at a practical level. It was concluded that there are practical measures that can be taken to improve the current imaging service, focusing primarily on the creation of an Equipment Installation Service and the creation of plans to decentralize the distribution of human resources.
