Abstract(s)
To achieve the Master Course in Rehabilitation Nursing of Escola Superior de SaĂșde do Instituto PolitĂ©cnico de Bragança was necessary to develop a research work whose theme addressed the "Back pain prevalence in nurses," for the possible contribution to the development of new strategies in the prevention of back pain in healthcare workers, by the intervention of the rehabilitation nurse in conjunction with the multidisciplinary team, can be critical. In this sense, the question of starting has been set: "There is a high prevalence of Back pain in nurses of ULSNE?". This research was performed by applying a self-administered data collection instrument, quantitative approach, applying a descriptive and correlational methodology, a random probability sample stratified, with the fundamental objective of reflecting on the prevalence of back pain in nurses at the ULSNE and describe the skills of nurse specialist in rehabilitation nursing. The results point to low levels of functional disability and fear-avoidance beliefs on both subscales physical activity and labor. With regard to cases defined it was concluded that there is no correlation between socio-demographic variables and the prevalence of back pain, except when related this variable to the variable marital status, there is no relationship between business variables and the prevalence of low back pain, there is a relationship highly significant between functional disability assessed by QDLIQ and the prevalence of back pain in nurses in this study and there is a highly significant relationship between fear-avoidance belief evaluated by QCME and the prevalence of back pain in nurses of this study.
