Educar para o uso eficiente da água: como pode a matemática contribuir?

| dc.description.abstract | A água é um dos recursos naturais mais valiosos do planeta, sendo a sua escassez um problema que tem vindo a aumentar em todo o mundo. Neste contexto, faz todo o sentido que os professores se preocupem em debater com os seus alunos estratégias para combater o desperdício de água potável no seu dia a dia, independentemente da área ou nível de ensino que lecionam. Os estudos realizados ao nível da eficiência hídrica com alunos de mestrado podem constituir uma fonte de ideias para tarefas a realizar na sala de aula noutros níveis de escolaridade, tanto pelo conhecimento veiculado do ponto de vista teórico como pela possível adaptação de parte da metodologia utilizada na recolha de dados. Partindo deste conhecimento, alicerçado em algumas experiências já desenvolvidas em ambiente escolar, pretende-se apresentar sugestões de tarefas, e refletir sobre as suas possíveis abordagens, que possibilitem estabelecer conexões entre o ensino e a aprendizagem de matemática e a problemática do uso eficiente de água. A título de exemplo, indicam-se algumas questões mais abertas que podem ser exploradas: Que quantidade de água consumimos? Que quantidade de água desperdiçamos? Como pode a minha escola tornar-se mais eficiente em termos hídricos? Qual pode ser o meu papel? O intuito é que as tarefas propostas permitam trabalhar em simultâneo o desenvolvimento de competências matemáticas e a educação para a cidadania, consciencializando os alunos para a importância da água na sustentabilidade do nosso planeta. | pt_PT |
| dc.description.abstract | Water is one of the most valuable natural resources on the planet, and its scarcity is an increasing problem around the world. In this context, it makes perfect sense for teachers to discuss with their student's strategies to combat the waste of potable water in their daily lives, regardless of the area or level of education they teach. Studies carried out at the level of water efficiency with master's students can be a source of ideas for tasks to be carried out in the classroom at other levels of schooling, both for the knowledge conveyed from a theoretical point of view and for the possible adaptation of part of the methodology used in the data collection. Based on this knowledge, supported by some experiences already developed in the school environment, we intend to present suggestions for tasks, and reflect on their possible approaches, that allow establishing connections between teaching and learning of mathematics and the problem of the efficient use of water. As an example, there are some questions that can be explored: How much water do we consume? How much water do we waste? How can my school become more water-efficient? What can be my role? The aim is that the proposed tasks allow us to work simultaneously on developing mathematical skills and education for citizenship, making students aware of the importance of water in the sustainability of our planet. | pt_PT |
