dc.description.abstractln order to obtain precursors for a ring C convergent method to thienodibenzothiophene by an intramolecular Heck reaction, 3-bromo-2-((Z)-2-bromovinyl)thiophene 1 was prepared from 3-bromothiophene by ortho-directed lithiation followed by electrophilic formylation and formation of the bromovinyl moiet via the dibromo compound.
