| dc.description.abstract | The food industry is responsible for the annual production of billions of tons of food that are eventually discarded as waste. It is also responsible for some of the huge amount of wastewater that is generated worldwide. These wastes are rich sources of phenolic compounds that, because of their biological properties, particularly their antimicrobial and antioxidant properties, have the potential for industrial application. This potential makes the use and recovery of bioresidues viable, leading to the growth of the circular economy and sustainability of the agro-food sector. | pt_PT |
