Abstract(s)
Perante a urgência da crise climática é fundamental que todas as instituições, incluindo a escola, tomem consciência e se comprometam para uma ação coletiva que contribua para uma cidadania responsável e difundam a compreensão das problemáticas que o mundo atual enfrenta. A Educação Ambiental (EA) surge, assim, como imperativa, numa perspectiva de aprendizagem ao longo da vida em situações de ensino/aprendizagem formal e não formal. Este trabalho, através de uma revisão bibliográfica, tem como objetivo mostrar que a literacia climática pode contribuir para a educação ambiental das pessoas, a melhoria da literacia climática contribui para que se consigam alcançar mudanças de atitudes e de comportamentos que sejam promotoras de um melhor ambiente, algo urgente e imperativo, uma vez que a investigação demonstra existirem níveis muito baixos de literacia climática, em vários países do mundo, no que respeita às questões climáticas. Pretende sugerir que se atuarmos ao nível da literacia, estaremos muito provavelmente a atuar na mudança de atitudes, portanto, a literacia ambiental é uma das bases sobre as quais o processo de EA deve assentar para aspirar a ter sucesso
Given the urgency of the climate crisis, it is essential that all institutions, including schools, become aware and committed to a collective action that contributes to a responsible citizenship and spreads the understanding of the issues facing the world today. Environmental Education (EE) appears, therefore, as imperative, in a perspective of lifelong learning in formal and non-formal teaching/learning situations. This work, through a literature review, aims to show that climate literacy can contribute to the environmental education of people, the improvement of climate literacy contributes to achieve changes in attitudes and behaviors that are promoters of a better environment, something urgent and imperative, since research shows there are very low levels of climate literacy in several countries in the world about climate issues. It aims to suggest that if we act at the literacy level, we will most likely be acting in changing attitudes, therefore environmental literacy is one of the foundations on which the environmental education process must be based to aspire to succeed
