Abstract: This work presents an experimental validation of a simplified numerical method for the calculation ofthe natural frequencies ofthin pipes. This model is based on the approach of the displacement fíeld conibining Fourier expansion and analytical ftmctions. The deformation shell model involves the concept of thin walled shell and the variation method for the minimum total energy in the structure. The externai force system consists exclusively in inertial forces írom the surface acceleration. The results presented are compared with experimental data obtained with ESPI and accelerometry techniques.
