This architecture, regardless of some shortcomings, has managed not only to survive but also to evolve, achieving a more complete set of features. This fact, combined with its inherent simplicity and coarse API availability, has pushed it to a dominant position in today’s network management. Other technologies are showing up as add-ons that can help reduce network overload, robustness and flexibility. Researchers currently consider that mobile agent technology can provide valuable contributes to these subjects.
