Um dos campos onde é possível afirmar que tem vindo a assumir uma maior importância é no cinema, daí que a TAV, em geral, e a legendagem, em particular, sejam cada vez mais relevantes no contexto dos festivais de cinema. Desta forma, este relatório de estágio, realizado no âmbito do Mestrado em Tradução, centra-se na TAV, na sua origem, no seu desenvolvimento como disciplina no âmbito dos Estudos de Tradução e no modo como a sua natureza intersemiótica e multimodal afeta o desenvolvimento como disciplina. Resultante desta mesma natureza intersemiótica e multimodal, identifica-se um conjunto de restrições na TAV e na legendagem, que será a modalidade em que me centrarei com mais atenção, especialmente no contexto dos festivais de cinema. Este é o caso do Festival Internacional de Cinema AVANCA, onde estagiei e, consequentemente, realizei a tradução de um guião (para efeitos de obtenção de financiamento) e a legendagem de diversas longas e curtas-metragens. Estas atividades serão descritas para documentar o período de estágio curricular.Audiovisual Translation (AVT) is in constant development and growth, attracting increasing attention from scholars and researchers. One of the fields where it is possible to state that it has been taking greater importance is in the cinema, hence that AVT, in general, and subtitling, in particular, are becoming increasingly relevant in the context of film festivals. In this way, this report, carried out within the scope of the Master's in Translation, focuses on AVT, its origin, its development as a discipline in Translation Studies and the way in which its intersemiotic and multimodal nature affects its development as a discipline. Resulting from this same intersemiotic and multimodal nature, a set of restrictions is identified in AVT and subtitling, which will be the mode on which I will focus more closely, especially in the context of film festivals. This is the case of the AVANCA International Film Festival, where my internship took place and I consequently translated a script (for the purpose of obtaining financing) and subtitled several feature and short films.
