Abstract(s)
The School portrays the social and cultural reality and a nation values, considering it as an institution with enormous social relevance and from which governments exercise direct influence as educational policies makers. In this context, this article intends to revisit the life and memories of a teacher work, in Mozambique, between the years 1966-1975. The main intentionality is the attempt to collect information, as well as obtain elements that make possible to understand the similarities or contrasts between the Portuguese and Mozambican School reality during the colonial period. Admitting that the school and the teachers were, in this historical time, a way to convey colonial policies and the status quo of Portuguese authoritarian government, it is considered important to preserve memories of those who lived and experienced professional life in these geographical contexts. Furthermore, it will eventually enable us, (de)construct concepts and preconceptions about the Mozambican socio-educational reality in that time, reconciling two people who, although imprisoned by dictatorial policies, share common ties, perhaps reinforced because they express themselves in Portuguese.
