O contributo dos docentes no processo de avaliação das universidades é de grande importância para elevar a qualificação institucional, promovendo a melhoria do ensino, da investigação, da extensão e da sua gestão. Com o objetivo de avaliar o processo de gestão institucional do Instituto Federal de Educação, Ciência e Tecnologia do Pará-IFPA, em Belém do Pará, este estudo apresenta os resultados de uma pesquisa que fez o levantamento dos fatores que, na perceção de cento e vinte docentes do IFPA, interferem na continuidade e no aperfeiçoamento do processo de avaliação institucional. Os dados foram recolhidos através de questionários e analisados com recurso a técnicas estatísticas descritivas.
De um modo geral, os fatores que facilitam ou dificultam o processo de avaliação foram classificados de Regular a Mau; a qualidade de ensino, as estratégias de avaliação, nomeadamente a definição clara dos critérios e indicadores a serem utilizados, e a qualificação e profissionalização dos docentes foram avaliados de Bom a Regular; e, finalmente, o cumprimento de metas e objetivos e o investimento em novas tecnologias foram classificados entre Regular e Mau. Tendo em conta o conjunto da avaliação, o Instituto Federal de Educação, Ciência e Tecnologia do Pará foi avaliado com Regular.
Apesar do caráter exploratório do presente estudo, os resultados obtidos permitiram construir uma imagem adequada sobre a avaliação no IFPA e sobre o perfil dos docentes com um desempenho de 20 a 40 horas semanais em sala de aula.
Within the process of evaluation of universities, teachers’ perception is an important tool to increase institutional training, promoting the improvement of teaching, research, extension and management. In order to assess the institutional management process of the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology Para-IFPA, in Belem, this study presents the results of a study that raised the factors that, in the perception of 120 teachers of IFPA interfere with the continuity and improvement of the institutional evaluation process. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using descriptive statistical techniques. Between 70.0% and 22.5 of the evaluation scores featuring between Good and Regular respectively according to the quality of education and 48.4% and 20.4% of the evaluation scores between Regular featuring the Bad the factors that facilitate or hinder the process evaluation, highlighting over 60% the following: awareness of the importance of evaluation, clear definition of the criteria indicators to be used in the evaluation, definition and dissemination of the institution's policies and the renewal of the internal evaluation committee. Despite the exploratory nature of the study, the results obtained allowed to build a suitable image on the assessment in the IFPA and the profile of teachers.
