Abstract(s)
O estudo desenvolvido no âmbito desta dissertação pretendeu contribuir para o conhecimento dos serviços de ecossistema fornecidos na bacia superior do Rio Sabor, uma área situada no nordeste de Portugal, no concelho de Bragança. Foram avaliados quatro serviços de aprovisionamento (produção de cogumelos silvestres, produção agrícola, produção de lenha e produção de madeira) e dois serviços de recreio (caça e pesca). Com base em dados provenientes de estatísticas oficiais, bases de dados institucionais e cartografia de uso e ocupação do solo procedeu-se à quantificação física, valoração económica e mapeamento das alterações dos serviços ocorridas entre 1990 e 2006. As estimativas obtidas, realizadas com base na produção atual (procura) e aplicando o método dos preços de mercado, permitiram verificar que os serviços analisados contribuíram para a atividade económica com cerca de 10,5 milhões € em 1990 e com 8,2 milhões € em 2006, o que representou um decréscimo de 21%.
Os cenários de alteração da paisagem desenvolvidos para 2020, permitiram verificar que a expansão das áreas de floresta é o cenário mais favorável ao fornecimento dos serviços de produção de cogumelos silvestres, produção de lenha e produção de madeira. Se a tendência de evolução da paisagem ocorrida entre 1990 e 2006 se mantiver no sentido da expansão das florestas, é expetável um aumento da oferta destes serviços de ecossistema na região da bacia superior do Rio Sabor.
The study conducteded in this dissertation aimeds to contribute to the knowledge of ecosystem services provided in the Sabor river`s upper basin, an area located in northeastern Portugal, Bragança. We evaluated four provisioning services (wild mushrooms production, agricultural production, firewood production and timber production) and two cultural services (game and fisheries). Based on data from official statistics, institutional databases and land use/land cover change mapping, economic valuation and mapping of services changes were quantified for 1990 and 2006. The estimates, made on the basis of current production (demand) and applying the market prices methodindicated that the services analyzed contributed to the economic activity in the areawith near € 10.5 million in 1990 and € 8.2 million in 2006. There was a decrease of 21% in the value of these services within the period under consideration. The landscape change scenarios developed for2020indicate that the forest areas expansion is the best-case scenario in terms of wild mushrooms production, timber production and firewood production provision. If the trend observed between 1990 and 2006 towards the expansion of forests is maintained in the futureit can be expected an increase in the supply of these ecosystem services in Sabor river´s upper basin.
